Scottish politics – somewhere over the rainbow

Scottish Left , Nov- Dec 2014 edition has published an article I wrote assessing the Scottish political landscape, Toto, this ain’t Kansas anymore

I know, I know. The Oz political allegory, since it was first published by  L. Frank Baum in 1900, has been used over and again to critique contemporary capitalist societies, economic and political events by many, and far better writers than me.  But, sometimes it is useful to step back and consider the political landscape – and the Scottish indyref tornedo that hit Scotland this year requires some considerable scrutiny. One thing that is for certain, is that Dorothy is not going to wake up any time soon, comfy in her bed at Aunt Em’s to find everything back to normal.

I hope that my small contribution can be enjoyed for what it is.  It will be time served, as already events are moving on…
